Dear Ageless Traveler,

I am grateful that our newsletter readership is now over 2,000. I was delighted and excited when I met some of you in LA at my daughter’s play, Mostly Midsummer (which was sold out hit by the end of its run).

Meeting some of you personally made me think about a newsletter I published years ago called The Wealth Builder. It was a financial investment letter with 75,000 subscribers, many of whom I spoke with on the air while at WABC radio in NYC.

I want to establish that kind of relationship with you all, regarding travel. So, I am expanding this newsletter by adding new sections like Travel News You Can Use, Curated Lifelong Travel Products, Culture Vulturing, and Tips for Luxury Travel on a Budget.

To meet face-to-face, I invite you to a live event to educate the tourism industry on how we age. Tune in…and see what I am doing to wake up the travel industry:

Join Ageless Tourism on June 18th at 9 am Pacific for an engaging online seminar: “How To Attract, Serve, and Retain the 60+ Tourist.” Register free at https://AgelessTourism.com/live-webinar. Shape the future of age-friendly travel!

Of course, my main gig is our excellent award-winning podcast, The Ageless Traveler. I was recently inducted into the North American Travel Journalists Association. I am adding more travel articles that relate to the podcast topics, to point you toward great travel experiences.

If you have travel questions, I can answer them. Send voicemail and text questions to fanlist.com/ageless traveler.

P.S.

I will report on my August and September trip to Africa. Unfortunately, that trip is now closed.

Do not miss the 2026 trip to Japan. Tell me you are interested, and I will select a journey that resonates across all age groups and mobility levels. Leave your expression of interest at fanlist.com/ageless traveler or email me at adrianegberg.agelesstraveler@gmail.com

This Week’s Highlights

On Our Podcast

Hiking Adventures: Yosemite, Matterhorn and the Orangutans of Maylasia

“If you don’t challenge yourself, you don’t grow.” Benjamin Epstein, Culinary Writer, Editor Performances Magazine

In this exciting episode, we celebrate Father’s Day with the adventurous Benjamin Epstein, a 73-year-old father of five and avid hiker. You will be enthralled with tales of saving a baby Orangutan in Malaysia, his thrilling experiences climbing iconic peaks like the Matterhorn, and his upcoming challenge of hiking the Half Dome in Yosemite.

Benjamin recalls a vivid memory of climbing the circular stairs of Notre Dame in Paris, only to find himself frozen with fear when he looked down. However, he didn’t let this fear define him. Instead, he chose to confront it head-on.

Benjamin’s inspiring story reveals how curiosity and passion for adventure can lead to a fulfilling life at any age. Don’t miss this uplifting conversation!

Are you Ready to Travel to Japan with me in 2026?

In 2026, I will be traveling to Japan for the first time.

Part of the trip will be an “Art Safari.” If you want details, I will arrange a live stream in July and invite you to see and contribute to the itinerary.

If interested, leave me a message at fanlist.com/agelesstraveler. I will gladly keep you in the loop as I set up the trip.

Culture Vulturing Around the World

Yo, Adriane, What’s an Art Safari?

I loved this article from Escape Artist, which discusses the best sites for street art. That’s part of an art Safari, where we go to the best museums and street art and meet the artists of an area. I have been to all the places mentioned in the article, but Tokyo (we will go in 2026) and Cape Town, where I go this August. I will give you a full report on Cape Town, South Africa, as an art venue.

Literary Tourism

I am a bibliophile. If you belong to a book club, why not plan a trip around literature and writers?

My choice…

Edinburgh, for Sir Walter Scott,

Apia, Samoa for Robert Lewis Stevenson, or

Jane Austen Center, Bath England. (While in Bath take a Prosecco Cruise on the waterway.)

I took a Midsummer Murders Tour. You can visit St Mary’s Church, Chosely, Oxfordshire on your own, where you will find Agatha Christie’s Grave and have a slice of Victoria Sponge cake.

What literary genre or figure interests you or your book club? Let me know at https://fanlist.com/agelesstraveler/
