Dear Ageless Traveler,
My Husband and I embarked this week on a two-month adventure to celebrate our 54th Anniversary. We have enjoyed just the first two days in London, so far. We visited the Wallace Museum, which I will introduce you to in News You Can Use, along with an acclaimed Podcast for people over 70. In the Culture Vulture section, I will take you on a Bookstore Safari in London.
We plan to spend less than some travelers do for their two-week itineraries. You get my tips on long vacation planning in the Ask Adriane section of this week’s newsletter. Luxury Travel for Less gives you pointers on savings money and traveling upscale.
I remind you to please keep listening to The Ageless Traveler Podcast ALL SUMMER. The summer programs continue until September 30, and the episodes are previewed at the end of this newsletter.
In this week’s episode, I interviewed Ronan McMahon, the leader in buying real estate investments in Europe, Central America, and South America. He explains how properties, for example in Spain and Portugal, are tailor-made to be lived in when you want to and managed for you when you want rental income…money and vacation for a carefree lifestyle is the goal.
And let me know if you want to organize a trip for your group. To do so, email adrianegberg@gmail.com. To see how we support your group, check out The Ageless Traveler for Travel With Us

Culture Vulturing Around the World
|
|
All Culture Vultures love bookstores.
How would you like to take a bookstore safari? I walked my feet off, but it was worth the London stroll to iconic bookstores. The Daunt is one of the oldest bookstores in London, where eBooks are presented by country…yes, it was initially a travel books store. Then, we went to Mayfair and Heywood Hill, where Nancy Mitford worked. You can get a set of her novels in a special case and rare books for children and adults. Netflix now has the story of her life with her sisters…a prominent English family where two sisters became Nazis and lovers of the most sadistic creatures the devil ever put on earth. Nancy was a lark…not Lucky in Love, but a good writer and the darling of many cultural icons.
And don’t forget Foyles…the big store and Waterstone, the most modern.

How I Travel in Luxury Without Breaking the Bank.
I use all the apps I provide you on Ageless Traveler, and I use them constantly. I use points but often get a better deal through those apps.
For example, I am on a two-week cruise through the Canary Islands, Seville, Lisbon, Madeira, and more. Cruises It give the deepest discounts. And they tell me if prices have decreased at the last minute, and I get that rate. My two-week cruise for two is $3100 for an outside cabin.
For an African safari, I found Kurt Safaris in South Africa. My friends paid nearly $1000 a night for similar accommodation that cost me $300. How? AI research and speaking directly through WhatsApp with the company. Often, you get a personal deal if you make a call and have a budget.
